Phylicia Gilijamse is a Dutch jewellery designer, formerly based in Copenhagen.
She integrates playful and sharp Dutch design with minimal Danish aesthetic. Minimalism, simple geometric shapes, and functional details are the essence of her jewellery. The choice of materials define her original designs and give them a fresh, but timeless character. Phylicia Gilijamses jewellery shows appreciation for craftsmanship, as well fondness for as technical and innovative design.
Her education as a jewellery designer started in Schoonhoven (the Netherlands) where Phylicia trained to become a goldsmith at De Vakschool. She received her Bachelor degree from the University of Applied Sciences (Düsseldorf, Germany) in Applied Arts and Design, and her Master degree from the Royal College of Art (London, United Kingdom) in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork & Jewellery.
Phylicia made a collection of 3D-printed jewellery especially for The Caribbean Housewife, titled ‘Vitamin D’, which opened with a vernissage on February 3, 2017. The new collection was on show at The Caribbean Housewife until March 19, 2017.
