Terms and Conditions

Overview

This website is operated by The Caribbean Housewife, founded by Jamain Brigitha in Denmark in 2016 (CVR DK38051156), and The Caribbean Housewife a Roma di Emiliano Trebbi, founded in Italy in 2026 (P.IVA IT02506640560).

Throughout the site, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Caribbean Housewife.

These Terms and Conditions apply to the website and to the information, products, bookings, events, catering, personal chef services, wedding planning services, digital products, physical products and other services made available through it.

By using the website, placing an order, making a booking, joining a waitlist or using one of our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions together with any additional terms or policies referenced on the relevant page.

You must be at least the age of majority applicable in your place of residence to use the store. You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase products containing alcohol from The Caribbean Housewife.

1. Online Store

You may not use our website, products or services for any unlawful or unauthorised purpose or in a way that violates applicable law, copyright, intellectual property rights or the rights of others.

You must not transmit viruses, malicious code or anything intended to disrupt or damage the website or related services.

We may refuse, limit or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, incorrect pricing, unavailable products, geographic restrictions or misuse of the store.

Order handling fee

Store orders include a 2% order handling fee. The fee is shown in the basket and checkout before the order is placed.

2. Housewife Roast and Dinner Event Bookings

This section applies to dinner bookings and event reservations, including HOUSEWIFE ROAST and similar dining events.

Waitlist and confirmation

Booking dates may be offered by joining our waitlist. Joining the waitlist is free and does not require upfront payment.

Waitlist guests may receive first access when dates are released. A booking is confirmed only after payment has been completed and a confirmation has been sent by e-mail.

Duration and delays

For dinner bookings, your seat is booked for 2 hours from the confirmed reservation time. It is not possible to arrive earlier, including for drinks.

All guests must be present when the reservation begins. We cannot guarantee an extension when guests arrive late.

A delay of more than 20 minutes may result in cancellation of the booking and the table may be released to another guest.

Cancellations

Dinner tickets are not refundable unless the event is cancelled by The Caribbean Housewife or we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

If an event is cancelled by The Caribbean Housewife, the amount paid will be returned to the payment method used for the booking and the customer will be informed through the registered e-mail address.

Dates and times cannot be changed without our approval. Purchased bookings cannot be refunded or changed unless agreed in writing by The Caribbean Housewife.

Refunds are not provided for no-shows, illness or fear of infections unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

Prepayments and gift cards

Dinner bookings must be prepaid.

A request to reschedule may be made by e-mail at least 3 days or 72 hours before the reservation. Where approved, the prepayment may be moved to another available date or converted to a gift card.

Gift cards are valid for a maximum of 6 months from the date of purchase.

Dietary restrictions and allergies

Dietary restrictions and allergies must be provided before the reservation is confirmed. We cannot guarantee that restrictions or allergies communicated less than 24 hours before the reservation can be accommodated.

Children

Children cannot be added to a booking free of charge and guests may not bring their own food for them.

Animals

Dogs and other pets are not allowed at our dinner events.

3. Physical Products

This section applies to physical products sold by The Caribbean Housewife, including the 10 Year Anniversary Cuvée, Housewife Hot Sauces, T-shirts, tote bags, merchandise and other physical products.

A physical product purchase does not include a dinner booking, table reservation, tasting, event access or seat at The Caribbean Housewife unless this is clearly stated in the product description.

Products may be available only in limited quantities, in selected countries or for a limited period. Product descriptions, availability, colours, sizes, prices, production locations, fulfilment methods and delivery options may change without notice.

We may limit quantities, geographic availability or sales of a physical product and may refuse, limit or cancel an order where reasonably necessary.

The legal entity identified as the seller on the order confirmation or invoice is the contracting seller for that purchase.

Alcohol products

Some products contain alcohol. By purchasing, collecting or receiving an alcohol product, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.

We may refuse handover, collection or delivery where age cannot be verified.

Print-on-demand merchandise

T-shirts, tote bags and certain other merchandise are produced individually after an order has been placed and may be produced and shipped directly by a third-party print-on-demand production and fulfilment partner.

We do not hold these products as conventional retail stock.

Once an order has entered production, changes to the product, size, colour, print, delivery address or other order information cannot be guaranteed. Customers are responsible for checking all order and delivery information before completing their purchase.

Production normally takes approximately 2–5 working days. Delivery time is additional and varies according to destination, carrier, customs procedures and circumstances outside our direct control.

Delivery estimates are estimates only and are not guaranteed delivery dates. Products within the same order may occasionally be delivered separately.

Collection and delivery

The customer is responsible for providing complete and correct delivery and contact information.

The Caribbean Housewife is not responsible for additional delivery costs, failed delivery, delays or loss resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the customer.

For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, import taxes, tariffs, clearance charges or other import-related fees may apply. These costs are the responsibility of the customer unless expressly stated as included at checkout. The Caribbean Housewife is not responsible for customs delays or charges imposed by the destination country.

Products should be inspected promptly after delivery or collection. Visible transport damage, an incorrect item or another immediately apparent order issue should be reported as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 24 hours, together with the order number and clear photographs where relevant. This request does not limit mandatory statutory consumer rights.

Right of withdrawal

Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies, EU consumers may withdraw from an eligible online purchase within 14 days from the day the goods are received.

The decision to withdraw must be communicated to The Caribbean Housewife within that 14-day period by an unequivocal written statement.

Following a valid withdrawal, the goods must be sent back without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the customer has notified us of the withdrawal.

The direct cost of returning the goods is paid by the customer.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned goods or the customer has supplied evidence that the goods have been sent back, whichever occurs first.

Merchandise returns and exchanges

We do not offer exchanges.

If a customer wishes to purchase another size, colour or product, this must be placed as a new order.

Returned merchandise must not have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the product and, for clothing, try it on.

Merchandise must not have been worn beyond trying on, washed, altered, stained, damaged, soiled, perfumed, deodorised, marked or otherwise used. Original labels and tags should remain attached where applicable.

The customer is responsible for any diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product. Any corresponding loss in value may be deducted from the refund to the extent permitted by law.

Food, beverages and sealed products

Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies to food, beverages or other sealed physical products, products must be returned unopened, unused, undamaged and in their original saleable condition.

Products that have been opened, consumed, partly consumed, improperly stored after delivery or otherwise made unsuitable for resale cannot be accepted as a change-of-mind return where applicable law permits this restriction.

Goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly and other products legally excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal are not eligible for change-of-mind withdrawal.

Nothing in this section limits statutory rights relating to faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or non-conforming products.

Refunds following withdrawal

Where a valid statutory withdrawal applies, we will reimburse the amount required by applicable consumer law.

Where the original order included standard delivery charges, the refundable delivery amount will not exceed the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method offered for that order.

Any additional amount paid for upgraded, premium, expedited or otherwise more expensive delivery is not refundable beyond the cost of the standard delivery option.

Return shipping costs remain the responsibility of the customer unless the return concerns a faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise non-conforming product and applicable law requires us to bear those costs.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect products

A faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise non-conforming product is handled separately from a change-of-mind withdrawal.

Customers should contact us as soon as reasonably possible with their order details and, where relevant, photographs showing the issue.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or reduces a mandatory legal guarantee or other statutory consumer right applying to faulty or non-conforming goods.

4. Digital Products, Licence and Copyright

This section applies to digital planners, ebooks, templates, Google Sheets, checklists, guides, downloadable files, online access products and related digital materials sold by The Caribbean Housewife.

Digital products are protected by copyright and licensed to the purchaser for personal wedding planning use only. Purchase does not transfer ownership of intellectual property rights.

A copy may be individually watermarked or digitally marked with identifying purchase information, including the purchaser’s name, e-mail address, order number or transaction details, to protect the work against unauthorised sharing, resale, copying, uploading, distribution or commercial use.

The purchaser may download, print and use the files for personal wedding planning and may import a PDF into GoodNotes or a similar personal note-taking app. A personal working copy of an included Google Sheet template may also be created.

The purchaser may not share, resell, upload, publish, distribute, gift, lend, adapt, recreate, translate, extract, use for clients, use in professional planning services, use for agency work or include any part of the product in another planner, template, guide, course, service, commercial product or downloadable file.

Unauthorised use, reproduction, redistribution, resale or commercial exploitation may result in access being revoked and legal action being taken.

Due to the nature of digital products, downloadable files, templates and online access products, sales are final once access has been granted or the file has been made available for download, unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

The customer is responsible for providing the correct e-mail address and account information. The Caribbean Housewife is not responsible for loss of access caused by incorrect customer information, unsupported devices, incompatible software or failure to download a product within a stated download period.

5. Housewife Referral Programme

The Housewife Referral Programme allows approved participants to receive a referral reward when someone purchases an eligible digital wedding planning product through their referral link.

Eligible products may include The Housewife Wedding Planner, the Copenhagen Edition, the Rome Edition, the Wedding Planner App and selected digital bundles.

Wedding planning services, catering, private events, physical products, consultations, custom proposals and other services are excluded unless stated otherwise in writing.

Referral rewards are currently calculated as 10% of the completed purchase amount excluding VAT, refunds, transaction fees, payment gateway fees, chargebacks, discounts and reversed transactions.

A reward is approved only after the referred order has been completed and paid.

We may reject, reverse, withhold or cancel rewards connected to refunded or disputed transactions, cancelled orders, duplicate or self-referrals, fraudulent activity, misleading advertising, spam, abuse of discounts, fake accounts, suspicious activity or violation of these Terms and Conditions.

Participants may share referral links through websites, newsletters, Pinterest, Instagram, blogs, WhatsApp groups and other relevant channels, but may not impersonate The Caribbean Housewife, falsely represent a partnership, use misleading advertising, abuse paid keyword advertising or engage in unethical marketing practices.

Referral rewards may require invoicing or tax documentation before payout depending on the participant’s country, status or amount due. Participants are responsible for applicable taxes connected to referral income in their own jurisdiction.

We may update, pause, limit, refuse or discontinue the Housewife Referral Programme at any time.

6. Event Space, Catering, Personal Chef and Wedding Planning Services

All bookings must be confirmed in writing by the client. Full payment is required to secure the agreed date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

A booking is confirmed once the required payment has been received.

Cancellations

Cancellation by the client must be made in writing. Any deposit already paid will be retained.

  • Cancellation received with less than three months’ notice before the event: 50% of the total event cost.
  • Cancellation received with less than two months’ notice before the event: 100% of the total event cost.

The total event cost is based on the confirmed number of guests at the agreed price per person, including VAT where applicable. If guest numbers have not been confirmed at the time of cancellation, the originally quoted or estimated guest number will be used.

Additional costs already incurred in preparation for the event will also be charged. These may include administration, invoicing, travel, supplies, preparation, staffing and other costs connected to the event.

Service responsibilities

The Caribbean Housewife provides the services described in the proposal and agreed with the client and is responsible for the preparation, delivery and presentation of the requested food.

Once catering has been served, control over portioning and distribution to guests rests with the client and their event coordinators or servers. The client is responsible for appropriate crowd management at food service areas.

The client is responsible for loss of or damage to equipment, catering boxes, supplies, cutlery, glassware or other property supplied by The Caribbean Housewife, including damage caused by the client’s guests.

Our property must be returned in its original condition and cleaned or disinfected where relevant. Unreturned or uncompensated property loss may be reported to the lawful authorities.

The client is responsible for complying with applicable governmental rules and restrictions relating to their event.

Complaints concerning an event must be made in writing as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours after the event.

7. Force Majeure

The Caribbean Housewife shall incur no liability to the client where performance of an agreement is prevented, delayed or materially hindered by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

These circumstances may include fire, flood, subsidence, sabotage, accident, late third-party services or transportation, strike, lockout, public health restrictions, government restrictions, illness, supply-chain disruption, extreme weather or comparable events outside our reasonable control.

To the extent permitted by law, The Caribbean Housewife is not liable for loss or damage resulting from such circumstances.

8. Products, Prices and Order Information

Prices, product descriptions, availability, offers and services may change without notice.

We make reasonable efforts to present product colours, images, information, pricing, shipping charges, transit times and availability accurately. Screens and devices may display colours differently.

We may correct typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions and may update information or cancel an affected order or booking where information was materially incorrect, including after an order has been submitted, subject to applicable law.

We may limit sales by person, household, order, geographic region or jurisdiction and may discontinue a product or service at any time.

Customers must provide current, complete and accurate billing, contact, shipping and account information and must update it where necessary so that transactions can be completed and customers can be contacted.

We may limit or cancel orders that reasonably appear to be placed by unauthorised dealers, resellers or distributors.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The website may provide access to third-party tools, platforms, payment services, delivery services or other external services.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability or practices of external websites or services that we do not control.

Customers should review the relevant third party’s terms and policies before using those services or completing a transaction through them.

10. User Comments and Submissions

If you send us comments, ideas, proposals, plans, images, text or other materials, you remain responsible for the legality and accuracy of the material you submit.

Where permitted by law and unless otherwise agreed, we may use, edit, reproduce, publish, distribute or translate submissions sent to us without an obligation to pay compensation or keep them confidential.

You may not submit unlawful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, misleading or infringing material, use a false identity or e-mail address, or upload malicious code.

We may remove content that we reasonably consider unlawful, offensive, infringing or inconsistent with these Terms and Conditions.

11. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the website or its content to engage in unlawful acts, infringe intellectual property or other rights, harass or abuse others, submit false or misleading information, distribute malware, collect personal information unlawfully, spam, phish, scrape, interfere with security measures or disrupt the operation of the website or related services.

We may restrict or terminate access where these rules are violated.

12. Liability and General Legal Terms

We do not guarantee that the website or online services will always be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Caribbean Housewife and its directors, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, suppliers and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, special or consequential loss arising from use of the website, services or products.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify The Caribbean Housewife and its relevant affiliates, partners, officers, directors, contractors, suppliers and employees against third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms and Conditions, violation of applicable law or infringement of another party’s rights, to the extent permitted by law.

Severability

If a provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect and the affected provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Termination

We may restrict or terminate access to the website or services if these Terms and Conditions are materially violated. Obligations and liabilities that arose before termination remain in effect.

Entire agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with the policies and specific terms referenced on the website, constitute the agreement governing use of the website and the relevant products and services.

13. Governing Law

The applicable law depends on the legal entity providing the relevant service or making the relevant sale.

Services, bookings, events, catering, personal chef services, purchases or deliveries carried out under The Caribbean Housewife, CVR DK38051156, are governed by applicable Danish law.

Services, bookings, events, catering, personal chef services, purchases or deliveries carried out under The Caribbean Housewife a Roma, P.IVA IT02506640560, are governed by applicable Italian law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects mandatory consumer rights that apply under applicable law.
