Jamain Brigitha and Emiliano Trebbi both started cooking at a very young age. Preparing food has always been an important part of their creative lives and a way to connect with others.
Jamain Brigitha aka The Caribbean Housewife, is an artist, curator, and creative entrepreneur who realises projects and events worldwide. She has Dutch-Caribbean roots and was born on Curaçao. She lived on Sint Maarten until she was 7 years old, where after she moved to the Netherlands. “After developing The Caribbean Housewife for 9 years in Copenhagen, I am ready to bring brightness and happiness to Rome.”
Since 1999, Jamain has worked across culture, communication, photography, visual art, programming, concept development, catering, and entrepreneurship. She has founded several businesses, including the non-profit Dream Amsterdam Foundation.
In 2016, she founded The Caribbean Housewife as an independent restaurant, catering service, and cultural food concept.
First launched in Copenhagen and now, ten years later, based in Rome. The brand combines Caribbean and Latin American cuisine rooted in diaspora flavours with natural wine pairings from women producers, contemporary art, visual culture, identity, and intersectional feminism. Jamain has planned and hosted intimate dinners, private celebrations, catering events, masterclasses and wedding-style gatherings where timing, food, guests, suppliers, budgets, and atmosphere all have to work in real life. Her approach comes from hospitality, cultural storytelling, and practical experience: clear numbers, good food, clear logistics, and a memorable celebration that feels like the people living it.
Her work has received international praise and media exposure, including Politiken, Berlingske, Munchies by VICE, Scandinavia Standard, Vogue Scandinavia, Mad About Copenhagen, Femina, The Guardian, The New York Times, Reuters, Associated Press, BBC, and CNN.

Since 2021, she works with Roman-Sicilian sous chef Emiliano Trebbi, who was born in Rome, Italy. His mother is from Catania, Sicily and his father from Rome. He started cooking since he was little as well; helping his Sicilian grandmother in the kitchen making classic dishes such as cannoli, caponata, and parmigiana.
His cultural background can be traced back to his work as a chef, but he also likes to use Asian inspired techniques. He fell in love with Japanese cuisine after his travels to Tokyo.
It inspired him to learn techniques and recipes from Japan and cuisine from other Asian countries, such as Korea and Philippines.
When he moved to Copenhagen from Rome in 2018, he started working at Bæst and then Mirabelle.
In the end, he found his place at The Caribbean Housewife, where Jamain Brigitha’s eclectic approach to food is similar to his: “Working predominantly with vegetarian, vegan, and plant-based recipes is what got my attention and I appreciate that I get the space to create new signature dishes at The Caribbean Housewife.”
Together, Jamain and Emiliano are the co-founders of the new to be opened restaurant in Rome and serve eclectic culinary experiences, which reflect the world’s rich cultural history.
