Our menu is inspired by traditional recipes from tropical places in the West Indies region and South American region, such as Cuba, the Netherlands Antilles, Jamaica, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago.
Caribbean soup is a hearty affair. Caribbean soup dishes are often rich and seasoned with fresh herbs like thyme. There is no thin broth and soup is not served as a first course to a meal. Instead, it is the meal, the main dish.
The Caribbean Housewife menu changes weekly. All soups are vegan and made with mostly organic or biodynamic produce. Examples are the ‘Surinaamse Dame’, a creamy Surinamese peanut soup with plantain, ‘Take me to Trinidad & Tobago’, a cassava corn chowder, or the ‘Caribbean Queen’ a zesty carrot ginger soup with cashew nuts. Next to unique soups we make vegetarian and vegan dishes, such as delicious quinoa salads, pão de quejio, empanadas, plantain, and desserts.
For those who want healthy home-made meals like our ‘Husmors Lasagne’, ‘Chili sin Carne’, and ‘Dagens Grøntsager’.
HOW TO ORDER?
We are open again for the winter season: Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 20:00! You can order at our shop or online.
We make all dishes in limited quantity and recommend ordering in our online store to make sure you can receive your favourites. Please pay by MobilePay to confirm your order, leave your pick-up time in the comments of your order and your food will be ready for you. Allow a minimum of 20 minutes between ordering and pick-up.

You can buy it at the soup bar or order a gift card online. You can either pick up the gift card at our shop, or let us know in the “order notes” if you want the card to be sent (additional postage costs will be added).

Our much-loved Surinamese peanut soup with coconut, bean sprouts, string beans, lime, cilantro, and chilli, if you dare. Scrumptious plantain can be ordered as a side.

Highly addictive Brazilian cheese breads. Our pão de queijo has a soufflé like texture and comes in a “hygge” set of three.
Scrumptious plantain banana with agave syrup and coconut flakes.
An amazing vegan mango vanilla coconut mousse with lime and ginger. Finished with a hint of baobab, turmeric, buckthorn, and edible flowers. Total bliss!
