Our menu is inspired by traditional recipes from tropical places in the South American and West Indies region, such as Cuba, the Netherlands Antilles, Jamaica, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago.
Caribbean soup is a hearty affair. Caribbean soup dishes are often rich and seasoned with fresh herbs like thyme. There is no thin broth and soup is not served as a first course to a meal. Instead, it is the meal, the main dish.
The Caribbean Housewife menu changes weekly. All soups are vegetarian or vegan, and made with mostly organic or biodynamic produce. Examples are the ‘Surinaamse Dame’, a creamy Surinamese peanut soup with plantain, ‘Take me to Trinidad & Tobago’, a cassava corn chowder, or the ‘Caribbean Queen’ a zesty carrot ginger soup with cashew nuts.

We are open again for the winter season: Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 20:00! You can order at our shop or online.
We make all dishes in limited quantity and recommend ordering in our online store to make sure you can receive your favourites. Please pay by MobilePay to confirm your order, leave your pick-up time in the comments of your order and your food will be ready for you!
