Our menu is inspired by traditional recipes from tropical places in the West Indies region and South American region, such as Cuba, the Netherlands Antilles, Jamaica, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago.
Caribbean soup is a hearty affair. Caribbean soup dishes are often rich and seasoned with fresh herbs like thyme. There is no thin broth and soup is not served as a first course to a meal. Instead, it is the meal, the main dish.
The Caribbean Housewife menu changes weekly. All soups are vegan and made with mostly organic or biodynamic produce.
Examples are the ‘Surinaamse Dame’, a creamy Surinamese peanut soup with plantain, ‘Take me to Trinidad & Tobago’, a cassava corn chowder, or the ‘Caribbean Queen’ a zesty carrot ginger soup with cashew nuts. Next to unique soups we make vegetarian and vegan dishes, such as delicious salads, pão de quejio, empanadas, jackfruit, pupusas, plantain, and desserts.
For those who want healthy home-made meals like our ‘Husmors Lasagne’, ‘Mac ‘n Cheese’, and ‘Chili sin Carne’.
HOW TO ORDER?
You can order your meal through our website for pick-up during our opening hours of the winter season until February 29, 2020:
Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 – 20:00.
We make our dishes fresh every day and in limited quantities. So we strongly recommend to order your food ahead via our online store to make sure you can enjoy your favourite choices and avoid waiting time. Please add any wishes or allergies in the “order notes”, as well as your preferred pick-up time. Allow at least 30 minutes between your online order and pick-up.
The order is only confirmed with your payment at placement of the order.

You can either pick up the gift card at our shop, or let us know in the “order notes” if you want the card to be sent (additional postage costs will be added).
